Loading and Lashing
Since its establishment, ADK Marble has been implementing a specific strategy to ensure that each product is carefully packaged and delivered to customers under the best conditions. The primary goal of this strategy is to provide safe shipments and deliver the products as they appear in stock, adhering to the principles of commercial integrity. Below you can find explanations regarding these strategies.
Bundle (Slab Packaging) Process
Once the production process is complete, each slab is packaged using a plastic separator to prevent scratches caused by friction between the slabs during the bundling process. These slabs are placed into wooden bundles that are heat-treated and certified with an IPPC certificate in compliance with the “Regulation on the Marking of Wooden Packaging Materials for Plant Health and Precautions” (ISPM No: 15). Additionally, special polystyrene is used around the edges of the slabs to prevent any breakage. A polyethylene sheet is also placed on top of each wooden bundle to prevent foreign materials and dirt from entering the package. This way, customers can store the products in their warehouses cleanly and make them available for use in a clean state whenever needed.
Since its founding, ADK Marble has preferred to load these carefully prepared bundles into containers on its factory premises with an experienced team. Although this process takes longer and is more costly compared to port loading, the bundles are loaded into containers using a special forklift attachment at the factory to avoid contact with multiple people whose experience levels in packaging are unknown. During long transit periods, the bundles are tightly secured to ensure the safety of the products, and they are fixed to the container floor to prevent movement and potential breakage. Following the securing process, dunnage bags are used in container shipments to fill the empty space between the bundles, ensuring that the bundles remain in their fixed positions during transport. These dunnage bags, also known as polymer bags, are inflated with compressed air. After completing all these procedures, the container doors are closed and sealed, and the container is placed on a truck with the help of a crane and sent to the loading port.
Cut-to-Size Material Packaging Process
ADK Marble places its cut-to-size products into fumigated wooden crates, supported by foam, which comply with the standards of the “Regulation on the Marking of Wooden Packaging Materials for Plant Health and Precautions” (ISPM No: 15). This certification serves to prevent the transfer of harmful organisms to customers through the wooden packaging materials used in the transportation of products domestically and internationally.
Each cut-to-size product is separated by foam sheets to prevent friction during transportation. After the products are placed into the wooden crates, a polyethylene sheet is placed on top of the crate to prevent foreign materials and dirt from entering. This way, ADK Marble customers can store their purchased products cleanly in their warehouses and present them when needed.
As a final step, each wooden crate is tightly strapped with plastic bands and placed on trucks with forklifts to be sent to the port. Upon arrival at the loading port, the wooden crates are transferred from the truck to the container and then loaded onto the designated vessels.
